MIRIAM MA studied music in Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, USA and took piano and vocal classes at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She started accumulating her singing and performing experience at the age of four when she began singing with the Hong Kong Children’s Choir. In the past, she also sang with the George School Chorale Group and Il Coro Choir.
Miriam performed extensively in Canada, America and China. A multi-genre tri-lingual vocalist, she performed a wide range of repertoire and sang in many private clubs’ events in the Hong Kong Yacht Club, American Club and the Hong Kong Football Club. Since her return to Hong Kong in 2007, Miriam has been an active performer in the local music scene and performs regularly with “Ma and the Young Bucks”, an indie folk band she formed, in music venues such as Orange Peel, The Wanch, Backstage and Peel Fresco. Having been one of the four finalists in the “Voice of China in Hong Kong”, Miriam’s performance is well received by audience as well as renowned producers such as Mark Lui and Pong Nan.
