Janice Lau is one of the few vocalists in Hong Kong who specializes in both classical and pop music performance. Lau has sung in many commercial jingles, including those for familiar brands such as McDonald’s Hong Kong, KFC, Ocean Park Hong Kong, Canon Hong Kong, Celestial Heights, and Wellcome. As for movies, Lau has participated as the lead vocal part of the film score of Bodyguards and Assassins, Warlords, Overheard, the Iranian movie The Kingdom of Solomon, and Man of Tai Chi directed by Keanu Reeves. In addition, Lau has been participating in Christian music recording since 2004, with songs such as If You Can See, Grace Too Beautiful, Life As Witness, and God, Where Are You.
Lau graduated from the Department of Music, Hong Kong Baptist University, with a major in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy under the tutelage of Ms. Chan Siu-kwan. Her passion in music has brought her numerous performance opportunities as well as awards and honors. Awards won during her school years include Hong Kong Schools Music Festival Ms. Barbara Fei Vocal Solo Prize, Hong Kong Baptist University Singing Contest Champion, and the Champion of the IMCA Inter-College Singing Competition.
